Mom has a set of watercolor paints that are in powdered form. We tried sprinkling them on paper after a water wash. The sprinkles dissolve in the water and the paint drifts. Looks really cool when it’s doing its thing, but it keeps going, and the water pools in the middle of the paper. You can see the potential here, though.

And it’s so much fun to play with.

Very lovely patterns Karen! Perhaps you could try this again using some thick watercolour paper – 300 LB or more – the paper would be less likely to buckle….

I think that’s what we were using. We went through several sets of watercolor paper. There might have been different weights. We actually did these in November. I’m just now getting around to blogging. That’s kind of how I do art. Lots of one thing, then lots of another, and blog one thing at a time.
