Cooking Spray As A Resist

06/20/2021Karen Watercolor Paint 1 Comment

In the top painting, I sprayed cooking non stick spray in the air and waved the watercolorpaper around in the droplets. Then, I painted on top of that with watercolor paint. In the bottom painting, I sprayed a LOT of cooking spray in the air before waving the paper around in it. Multiple times. It’s kind of subtle. I like it.

It’s hard to get just the paper I want wet before I start painting.

Lines in Watercolor

Each line is one brush stroke. All the lines go from left to right. It makes it look like it’s fading out on the right.

Soapy Watercolor on Dry

04/11/2021Karen Watercolor Paint 1 Comment

This time I wet my watercolor paint with soapy water and painted on dry canvas. I get really rough with the brush and had a lot of bubbles. Dried with a good amount of circles. This would make a cool background for a painting. Hm.
