Carla Sonheim posted a tutorial on her BLOG on how to marble on water with fingernail polish. Here’s the link http://www.carlasonheim.com/marbling-with-nail-polish/. She makes it look so easy! I didn’t have such great luck. The polish dried on the water pretty much immediately and I was unable to get it to swirl around much. And, once it dried, the polish is flaking off the paper. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong.
This one is the best. And not that great.
All these flowers needed a caterpillar. I used a fine point marker for the face, antennae, and feet.
The center didn’t quite go as planned. Was going for more texture. Oh, well.
This one has just a hint of darker purple on the edges. I like that look.
I like the flowers so much, I wanted to try painting some more.
Was going for bluebells. Hit and miss!
I wanted to try for a flower, only on purpose this time. I really like this. I think I need to try more flowers.
Here, I wanted to have mountains in the distance. All I used was grey polish. I think this works.
I was going for waves on a lake. I used three different blues. Not sure if I got it. May have to play with this one some more.
It wasn’t as hard as I thought to get some depth into these trees. A little bit of black or grey mixed with the green worked really well. Also, leaving stripes of thicker green polish worked, too. I’m happy with my trees. 🙂
