Single Band Bracelet with Links
I purchased a book called “Rubber Band Jewelry All Grown Up”, by Colleen Dorsey. It had some very nice ideas to make the rubber band jewelry more adult. The book suggests putting metal links and beads in your bracelets, but doesn’t give directions on how to do so. At least in the first two sections, which is as far as I’ve read. I played around with some links in this bracelet. I put two metal links in each spot to increase the strength of the piece. I know those links can bend easily. I like it.
Cuff Band
This Cuff Band is from the FriendlyBands website. I only used one color, though the video showed how to make it with more colors. Mine’s kind of bland, but I wanted to concentrate on the technique.
Crystal Band
I got the pattern for this bracelet off the FriendlyBands website. It’s called the Crystal Band.
Infinity Bracelet
This bracelet is called the Infinity Band Bracelet. The pattern is off the Friendly Bands website.
Gemstone Ring
It’s a little bulky to wear, but cute anyway. Also from the FriendlyBands website.
Cloud
This is also from the FriendlyBands website. I find it easier to learn a new skill by following directions. Once I’ve gotten to the point that I’m comfortable, I’ll start making up my own patterns.
2 Peg Fishtail and 3 Peg Single
I learned this stitch from the FriendlyBands website. It goes pretty quick and was fairly easy. Kind of nice after the last one.
After making this one, I decided it needed to be posted with the 2 Peg Fishtail. They are very similar, both in looks and in construction.
Arrowhead Band
http://www.friendlybands.com/ has directions for more bracelets. This is the Arrowhead Band. This one was very tricky. You have to be very careful what order you move the bands. I finally got the trick to this one, and a band broke! I must have started this one half a dozen times before I finished it. Good thing I like it!
Got a New Toy!
Mom gave me a Sunshine Loom for Christmas! These are the bracelets made with the directions that came with the kit. They are called the Single Band, the Double Band, the Triple Band, and the X Band. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, but was still tons of fun.
