Last time my mom was down to visit, I found the book “Crochet Stitch Dictionary”, by Sarah Hazell, at Joann Fabrics. I’ve been working up the samples and decided to post them in groups.
This first group is all the single crochet stitches.
This stitch is named Single Crochet.
This one is the Front Loop Single Crochet.
This stitch is called the Back Loop Single Crochet.

I taught a friend how to single crochet and it took her an afternoon to do a sample of single stitch. It does get better with practice, though.
