I have nine days to get ready to move. I have to work five of those days. I need a calming passage to recite to myself. Anybody have any to share?

Hi Karen, it sounds like you’ve got lots to do within four days but maybe you can spare a moment to read this poem….and maybe there’s more to life than packing ‘stuff’….
Leisure… W. H. Davies (1871-1940)
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Hi Karen, I’m so glad you like it and I doubt if we have ever met. I’m Irish and like to think that I’m intuitive and empathetic. I’m also at last, realising that too much ‘stuff’ distracts us. Living a rich life and being fully present in the moment revolves around the simple things. I wish you every happiness and probably the greatest of these in my humble opinion…time to stand and stare! Go neirigh on bothar leat.
