Buddy made friends with a bear in Montana. They had many, many discussions about food.
Toxic Lake
Butte, Montana used to strip mine for copper and other metals. When the mining stopped, they quit pumping out the water and this lake formed. The water is quite toxic. There are horns around the lake, to discourage birds from landing, but some are killed by the water every year.
Driving
And driving. And driving.
The road from western Washington to Montana seems to just go on forever.

This is the best picture that I could get that showed how low the clouds seemed in the mountains in Montana. Pretty cool!
Montana
Took a trip to Montana a couple months ago. Mom and I took turns driving. I really enjoyed taking pics of the scenery along the highway. I loved looking at the lines of cooled lava that jut out at odd angles. Imagine the forces of nature that create these scenes!
