I wanted to see what would happen if the triangles were all the same way. Not sure I like this one.
This is the same stitch used in the November third and the November tenth posts. I wanted to see it with four rows.
It makes a very nice wide bracelet.
I’d like to take this moment to thank every person that looks at my BLOG, and especially those that hit “like” or leave a comment. It is so nice to know that my posts are reaching people. 🙂
Went to visit my parents on Sunday. Mom and I experimented with watercolor paints, watercolor pencils, pens, stencils, and other craft media. We had a great time.
This started out as just smears of paint, but I saw a bunny and decided to bring that out.
This one is just me playing with different ways of putting paint on paper and blending.
I like this one best. It has water color paint, watercolor pencils, stencils and paste, and Copic marker.
This is a variation on the first braid I posted. There aren’t very many 4 strand braids, so I thought I better do all the variations, just for the practice. With this one, I discovered that I need to build up the muscles in my hands. My left hand was very sore when I was done. Hey, it’s art and a workout, all at the same time!
I have a book titled “Braids, 250 Patterns From Japan, Peru, and Beyond”, by Rodrick Owen. He gives a lot of background on braids, as well as different devices to help you make the braids. I’m using a foam card I got at a local craft store, but he gives directions on how to make cards from cardboard. There are also wooden frames that can be used. The book is fascinating. This is the first braid. It took me quite a while to make this one. It was hard to get the hang of holding the finished end and the foam card in one hand, while moving the cords back and forth with the other hand.
